The Gypsy of the Internet

I participate in many blogs and websites, and a friend recently titled me as the Gypsy of the Internet. For those interested in valuable tips for participating in public newsgroups, visit CertBlog to read my two latest entries concerning the subject. The goal of the two post is to get people thinking for themselves, performing research before asking, and ultimately take responsibilities for their own actions. Yes, I was meant to live a life of punishment.

Love him, hate him, or plain just don't know him; ladies and gentleman, VLAD MAZEK... <strange looks and a few golf claps>

If you know him, you have to respect him. Although he can get under peoples' skin at times, he knows his stuff. Vlad and I are aquintances. We have not spent enough time together to qualify as friends, but he is the one person I would call if you are interested in making money with Managed Services. <digression creeping in>

He posted on his sight today something that I have been battling with for a very long time: Time Management. I suck at it. I juggle too many things and do not concentrate on the items that I need to. The items that could make money if I dedicated time to them.

So this month, I am going to do a wee bit of house cleaning. But before I go ahead first in this OCD (Obsessive Compusive Disorder) fit, I need a plan.

Many Thanks to All...

I received this email from a friend of mine. I receive a couple of these a week and it makes everything that I do with this blog and newsgroup worth it. Thank you Angel, and to all the rest of you who take the time to drop me a line or comment to say Thank You.

I started to attend a school where I live at in N.Y.C and it was ok…it was mostly a self helping school where you have to go home and learn the stuff on you own... I was a bit disappointed because I could have just bought some books on A+ and Network + done it on my own instead of paying some school and also missing out on the hands-on which I thought I was going to get and I really wanted and went to school for  …So for some of ya that are thinking of going to attend a trade school that teaches computers do your research and ask many, many questions because you might be able to save a lot of money sometimes going about doing it yourself….I received my A+ and Network + with them….(really on my own) and learning from that experience I started to do my Microsoft certification on my own….it have been challenging and hard but with help from people on the Microsoft Newsgroup and Michael D. Alligood; who’s answer all my questions all the time even if its been answer before…. I thanks all of you …….Michael have even made up a site for people to use to help them with a lot of information even given people recognition that have passed their exams. In my opinion I think that’s wonderful because its hard work to achieve them(exams) than to go to a site and see you name makes you feel good thanks Michael…………….now my experience with IT work have been with friends and family……….and I have to say its been good cause of all the reading and books I bought on A+(hahahahaha) has made it fun…….one time I received a call from a friend  that their hard drive fail he never back up and was crying because all his  information was there…so I had read once if a hard drive fails to stick the hard drive in the freezer (yes in the freezer) and that might work so I told the him to try it and call me back in an hour  he was like this is ridiculous he  said…..but he did it and I tell you that it worked (WHEW) he was so happy (I was happy toooo) because he was able to retrieve his data, pictures of his daughter etc…….so BACK UP YOUR; times it could be simple basically something isn’t plugged it P.S. That why reading books is important because you learn what to do in some situations…….and for those of you that use brain dumps a little piece of advice stop using them you only hurting yourself

Welcome to the Classroom

And you thought you graduated already! Welcome back to the classroom. For years now, I have been helping and educating individuals about IT certifications and where to start. I remember the very first certification I heard of was the A+ offered by CompTIA. And at that time Microsoft Certified System Engineers were looked upon as gods. I knew very little of the various IT certifications, and next to nothing on where to start. The best education of all is experience; and I got more than I bargined for when I was hired by a Computer Learning Center. Here, instructors had more letters after their names than doctors. I remember being schooled in the different vendors and abbreviations. I was where I needed to be. During my time at the CLC, I advanced my position to Computer Service Manager, Network Administrator, and Technical Instructor. During that time, I successfully taken and passed many certification tests including; CCNA, MCP, A+, Network+, i-Net+, CIW Associate, and CIW Certified Instructor. After my stay with the CLC, I continued my education in the IT field and with the Microsoft Certification Program by achieving my Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator in Windows 2000, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Specialist. Currently, I assist over 1000+ individuals and small businesses a year with various computer related issues. I also provide education and assistance to those individuals looking to get into the IT field and certification programs. I created this blog to help those individuals who do not where to start in the IT field, educate others with tips and tricks I have learned over the years, and provide a place where people can ask "stupid" questions and not get flamed <<< you will find out what that means if you spend anytime in newsgroups.
